Since the late 1800s, the lock has been a defining symbol for Tiffany & Co., seeing its way onto pieces like brooches, necklaces, money clips, charms, and those iconic key rings. To celebrate the latest interpretation of this motif, the Tiffany Lock bracelet collection, the 185-year-old New York jeweler threw a high-carat dinner in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Described as “all-gender” with an ethos of “No rules. All welcome,” the chunky ID style bangle was the guest of honor at the event, which included Alexandra Daddario, Halsey, Zoë Kravitz, Blake Gray, Alexa Demie, Noah Beck, Giveon and Kaitlyn Dever.

Gal Gadot, who recently was appointed Tiffany & Co.’s Face for High Jewelry, sported 12 of the gold Tiffany Lock bracelets—six on each arm—in a nod to her Wonder Woman character’s Bracelets of Submission. “As a young Israeli girl, my first introduction to this iconic brand was after watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” she told Vogue. “When I choose a piece of jewelry, I always look for something timeless or something that has an edge to it. To me, jewelry is something that you keep forever more than a dress or a bag or whatever it might be. So I mostly look for pieces that I connect to and that I know that I will never go out of fashion.”

Hailey Bieber, who stars in Tiffany & Co.'s T Collection campaign, went more for of a mix-and-match approach, sporting six of the gold and pavé diamond Lock bracelets on one arm, a gold Elsa Peretti Claw necklace with green jade, finished with gold HardWear link earrings. “I really do like the stacking vibe,” she said. “I haven't always been a bracelet girl, but with the right kind of chunky cool layered pieces, I am—it really just depends on my mood.”

For Bieber, the jeweler also has a meaningful personal association. “My first piece of Tiffany jewelry was that chunky silver Heart Tag Necklace with the toggle. Those were all that, it was such a big deal to get one as a teenager and I remember my older sister got one on her 16th birthday, and I was so jealous. I couldn’t wait to get mine,” she said. “I think jewelry is something that you keep forever. I would like to be able to pass down some of these pieces to my kids one day. My mom and my grandma passed down jewelry to me, and that stuff always ends up being the most special because it's lived a life, and it’s coming from a person that you really adore.”

Kim Kardashian, meanwhile, complimented her currently platinum hair with a full-on array of white gold and platinum pieces that included two silver Elsa Peretti Snake Necklaces layered together with a Tiffany T T1 Diamond Necklace in 18k white gold, lock bangles in white gold with full pavé diamonds, half pavé diamonds and a handful of platinum and white gold rings.

Hosted by Tiffany’s president and CEO Anthony Ledru and executive vice president of product and communication, Alexandre Arnault, guests mingled on the terrace of the iconic Art Deco landmark with sweeping views of the city as a backdrop before taking their seats for dinner.

Kicking the evening off with a champagne toast, Ledru addressed the gathering saying, “Thank you for being with us for one of the most exciting launches of the last 10 years or maybe the last 100 years. In terms of symbolism, we believe it's about inclusivity, we believe it's about commitment, and we believe it's about love.”

The collection, which currently includes four bracelets in white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and pavé diamonds, will also introduce new styles starting January 2023 and aspires to be a new classic for Tiffany as they enter a new era with LVMH. “Over the past two years, we have worked to reinvigorate and rejuvenate the brand,” Arnault told the star-studded party. “Lock is the beginning of a new story, a new era. We will keep the blue box forever, but everything else will change, and this is super exciting to us.”
